Ministry Update

Hey NGIM Friends,

Thanks so much for your prayers while we were in Japan teaching both a group of pastors as well as a group of lay people our new witnessing paradigm that combines the best of what my two mentors (My father and my friend Rev. Edmund Chan) taught me.

To help you understand why Japanese leaders need to develop new witness paradigm to reach Japanese Youth, consider this perspective that Japanese people have: “The nail that sticks out is the first one to get pounded down.” As a result, many Japanese Christians are reluctant to openly share the gospel. But they did seem to like the revised conversational approach we taught them. The analogy we added to our model was the idea of “floating spiritual balloons” in normal conversations P.T.L.! So please pray that many who attending one of the two – two days training we did in Fukuoka, will take that next important step and look for divine appointments each day in their circle of influence.

I was also very surprised to learn that a few of the pastors who attended our pastor and pastor wives’ training in Fukuoka, were disciples of my mentor Rev. Edmund Chan and many had exposure to his teachings. As a result, many of the pastors were very open to our expanded Conversational Evangelism model that also included discipleship principles.

Please continue to pray also for all the important discipleship relationships that God has given us the privilege to cultivate here in the Lynchburg area, in our efforts to help equip the next generation. Pray that many other churches in the Lynchburg area, develop a similar vision to disciple those men and women who’s come to Liberty University to prepare for their future. But may I also ask that you prayerfully consider who is in your circle of influence that God may want you to mentor. WE NEED TO CONSIDER WHAT SHOULD BE THE IMPORTANT ROLE WE PLAY IN DISCIPLING THE NEXT GENERATION OF CHRISTIANS!

Please ALSO continue to pray for us as we determine what to do about the summer youth apologetics conference that we have sponsored for the last two years at Charlotte Christian School, led by our staff member, Dr. Brian Henson. We can no longer do this at Charlotte Christian School this summer. Also, Dr. Brian has recently been teaching his grounded series at Carmel Baptist church, Charlotte. Please keep this series in your prayers as Brian has improved the material he now teaches. Pray that many who have access to our resources will become more aware of the important materials that Dr. Brian is now teaching to equip youth and even many parents. Pray also for our other staff member Dr. Don Deal. In the last few months, Dr. Don has taught a logic class at Nepal Ebenezer Theological Seminary and taught Advanced Scientific Apologetics at Veritas International University (formerly Veritas Evangelical Seminary). Please also keep Dr. Don, Dr. Brian, and I in your prayers as we work to complete our book – Practical Apologetics – and make it available as a resource for seminaries and bible colleges.

Let me also share with you some important updates from NGIM concerning Norm Geisler books back in print.

You may know that Norm Geisler’s 4 volume systematic theology (in paperback) is back in print and you can order it as print on demand now. Go to Amazon or see the links below.

You may also be interested to know that the important book that my father wrote with Ron Rhodes called Conviction Without Compromise will be back in print this Spring published by Morgan James that will include some important updates from the co-author Ron Rhodes! You may be surprised to hear that I honestly didn’t realize until my father had left us how important this book is to anchor our faith as evangelical Christians. I’ll keep you informed when this book is available. Also, my father’s groundbreaking book, Twelve Points That Show Christianity Is True, is also getting a facelift and a second edition will be available hopefully later this year through Amazon published by NGIM!

Thanks for all your prayers and support for all of us at NGIM.
