Luvin Areas - CE Certified Trainer
My name is Luvin M. Areas. I have been serving as a pastor in San José, Costa Rica for 36 years and as an educator in various seminaries for over 25 years, specializing in Critical Thinking and Apologetics. I hold a Th.B. in Systematic Theology from Florida Baptist College, an M.A. in New Testament Exegesis from ESEPA Seminary, and an M.Sc. in Systemic Family Therapy from the Evangelical University of the Americas. I am currently pursuing my doctoral studies at Kairos University/ProMeta (D.Min), with a concentration in Apologetics Education.
I have also studied Philosophy at UTAC and received certification through NGIM with David Geisler. Since 2015, I have integrated and contextualized the approach of Apologetics + Conversational Evangelism + Discipleship as core pillars across various educational programs in Latin America.
Happily married for 36 years to Gabriela Jaubert. We have three wonderful children—Gabriel, Josué, and Maria José—all of whom are professionals, married, and actively serving the Lord.

What is the Conversational Evangelism Trainer Certification?
Individuals who have received this certification from NGIM have demonstrated a strong understanding of the concepts and applications of Conversational Evangelism, based on what they learned in David and Norm Geisler’s book, Conversational Evangelism, as well as what they learned from taking the “Conversational Evangelism” class and/or what they have learned as a student in Dr. David Geisler’s seminary class “Practical Apologetics”. They show a strong familiarity with all concepts in the CE model and regularly apply the principles to their day-to-day lives. They also show a posture of humility and a bent for serving God.
NGIM uses mixed methods such quizzing, coaching, and interviewing to vet these individuals, and we follow up with them several times a year to ensure they continue to understand and apply these principles in their witnessing and relationships.
