Prayer Update
Here is what you can pray for us at NGIM in our larger vision of better equipping the body of Christ. This month we have a specific financial need of $3000 to help better equip the body of Christ around the globe. Let me explain why this is so important. I’ve already confirmed with the Cinematic Arts department at Liberty University that our movie, Norm Geisler: Not Qualified would be very helpful for them to use to teach Christians about what a Christian Worldview should look like. Their biggest concern is that the documentary may be too long to keep students’ attention. They suggested we make a “short” (20 minute version of the movie) and then do a Q and A after the movie and they would show it at Liberty and invite not only students int the Cinematic Arts department but also other schools at Liberty. Please pray that God would put on the hearts of some of our followers to help us finance our next step to better equipping Christians. It will cost us $3000 to pay a qualified person to make this “short.” The good news is that God has already brought to us this qualified person who we know would do a great job. FYI, we also plan to use this “short version” as we do training in churches and on Christian colleges all across the country. We now have a Leader’s Guide that goes with the Study Guide and the movie. We also have the six online parts of the movie available to be used in small groups with this material to train any Christian who has never been trained in apologetics. All of this can be used free of charge to any Christian who has internet access to our movie website. Pray that many Christians will find these resources!
Also please continue to pray for our Japan witnessing model project. Pray specifically for my staff person in Singapore, Raymond Kwan, myself, and Pastor Paul from Japan as we continue to work on developing a witnessing model for Japanese Christians! We are starting to make some progress! PTL!
Pray for God’s favor as we work to get my father’s (Norm Geisler) One Volume Systematic Theology translated into Spanish. FYI, many Spanish Christian leaders have pleaded with us to get this done. We were told by a recent publishing company, that we are considering, that it will take one year to get the book into print in Spanish. Pray for God’s protection as this work is being done and that God would use this book to help the Christian church all throughout Latin America. I was told this was critical because the Spanish speaking Christians in Latin America do not have a good one volume systematic theology that is Dispensational.
Pray for us at NGIM as we will be soon getting back into print, Conviction Without Compromise, authored by Norm Geisler and Ron Rhodes. Our publisher is Morgan James and this will be a second edition. Pray that we can develop a good marketing plan for this important book on the Essentials of the Christian faith. With so much information being distorted on social media, Christians need a source they can trust even more!
Pray also for my three other staff, Raymond Kwan, Director in Singapore, Brian Henson, Director of Youth Apologetics, and Don Deal, Director of Classical Apologetics training. Pray for spiritual protection and greater open doors for ministry for all our staff.
Pray for Don Deal, Brian Henson, and myself (David) as we seek to finish our draft of our new book coming out next year called Practical Apologetics: Building Stronger Roots and Better Bridges. Our audience will bible college and seminary students. Pray also for open doors to teach online in a strategic seminary in Indonesia this year. Praise God we recently received from our publisher of Conversational Evangelism, Harvest House, the rights to the Indonesian rights to Conversational Evangelism that we plan to make available for anyone to download and use from our website. Christians in closed Muslim countries are sometimes very reluctant to share their faith for fear of being thrown in prison. I’ve been told by many in Indonesia, that our C.E. book is very helpful to teach Christians how to witness effectively to Muslims. In the last 5 years our C.E. book in Bahasa Indonesian, has been out of print.
Pray for renewed partnership with the four seminaries we used to teach at in Singapore (Trinity Theological College, Theological College of Asia, East Asia School of Theology, and Singapore Bible College). Pray that we can reconnect with some of my former students (From 2004-2011 we taught 300 students our Practical Apologetic Curriculum). Some of our pastors and missionaries are teaching all over Asia. Pray for the discipleship relationships that we have with many different people around the globe (students, college workers, pastors, and missionaries). Pray that they will come to the conclusion that discipleship needs to fundamental not supplemental. Pray for growth in partnerships we have with missionaries and seminaries in different parts of the globe. Pray that many CHURCHES around the country will use more of our free resources to equip the body of Christ. FYI, we included these links in our latest newsletter.
Pray also for our renewed partnership with our publisher of Conversational Evangelism, Harvest House, as we explore the idea of partnering together to equip more Christians in churches all across the country. Pray for wisdom as we seek to be a conduit here in the Lynchburg area for churches to target discipling of Liberty Univ. students to collectively play a role in raising up the next generation of Christian leaders.
Praise God for the recent opportunity we had to speak to all the Campus Directors of Ratio Christi in the U.S.. Pray that God would use it to better equip the staff and also that it somehow leads to their students making a bigger impact on their campuses in the days ahead. Pray for spiritual protection and wisdom this Friday as I speak to the Christian Group Ratio Christi at Liberty University on the topic: Problems and Pathways to the Gospel in a Post-Christian World. Pray that many will leave feeling challenged and having a greater desire to reach the lost around them.
Praise God that Keri Mankos and I (David) finished recently a second draft of the Leader’s Guide and it’s now available on our website. Please pray that God would give us greater understanding how best to make more churches around the globe more aware of the free resources we offer to better equip the body of Christ. Praise God we are making progress on a second level study guide, building on the knowledge of the first, that teaches Christians important simple truths about faith, reason, apologetics, evangelism, as well as good philosophy and a sensitivity to the work of the Holy Spirit. Continue to pray for wisdom to communicate these important truths in a simple way that many in the church will understand and embrace. Please pray for Keri Mankos and her family as well as me (David) and my family as both families are facing much spiritual warfare in building this resource.
Thanks for all your prayers for us at NGIM!
His Servant,
Dr. David Geisler
