By Umesh Bisunke, CE Certified Evangelist
Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ from Nepal! I have always wanted to share the gospel, and I really have a heart for the lost, but I struggled many times with the methods. I always wanted to learn a method which can establish a continuing relationship with non-believing friends.
When I learned the Conversational Evangelism (CE) approach while I was doing my Bachelor in Theology I found it very unique and applicable to use in our day to day life and in the present context of Nepal.
While doing my internship in NGIM I have found the CE approach as a powerful means to spread His gospel to reach out even to intellectual people of Nepal. So far I have had the opportunity to conduct 14 day-long seminars. I have also been preaching in different house fellowships in churches of Nepal which have had a great impact in the midst of Youth especially. While doing my seminars in churches there were people from different backgrounds such as teacher, medical student, worker, businessman, pastors, leaders, evangelists, and students. Even today they send me messages that they are practicing it in their daily life and it’s very applicable for them. Some churches invited me twice in their churches to teach CE.
"I found it very unique and applicable to use in our day to day life and in the present context of Nepal."
Wherever I have gone to teach I find comments like these:
- “It’s very unique method.”
- “It is very applicable according to today’s Nepali context.”
- “It really increased my confidence in my faith.”
- “I like the 5 planks very much.”
- “I learned the importance of hearing sour notes.”
- “I like questioning method very much it really helps to think others about their own belief system.”
- “Why don’t we make it as daily learning schedule in our youth fellowship?”
- “It really help me how to begin conversation with non-believing friends.”
So people find it very easy and very important tools which they must have.
While practicing CE in my daily life also 2 people converted into Christianity. They both were from medical background, and now they go to church and I am discipling them. Their names are Surakshya Thapa and Younisha, please keep them in your prayers.
"It really increased my confidence in my faith."
In my village every day whenever I get the opportunity I use this method and share the gospel. Not only that but in my preaching also I use this method. So am practicing it every day and am really enjoying it.
Many pastors know me because of this CE seminar so I have some influence on them and good impact on their youth, some pastors also keep on touching with me and they reports me that nowadays their youths talks about this method and its impact in their life
Here are a few testimonies from people who attended my seminar:
"Many people teach about the methods but this...focuses on maturity in having a heart for the lost."
Finally I am very thank full to be a part of this ministry and I request to you please remember us all in your prayer so that God may use this method in Nepal to spread the gospel.
