Accountability Statement

Friends of NGIM,

I want to let you know the details about an important decision I have made about our NGIM ministry. I’ve been praying and asking God for wisdom in determining how NGIM and specifically myself as the president can be more accountable in light of the fallout from the RZIM revelations.

There are three steps we at NGIM are going to take to become more accountable to those who support our ministry.

First, I’m giving my staff permission to share confidently any concerns they may have about me as the president, with an international Christian leader who is not affiliated with NGIM. He is a friend and mentor of mine who lives in the area and is not reluctant in any way to confront me on any issues related to NGIM. He and I have recently agreed to meet at least once a month and continually gives me good advice concerning my life and our  ministry.

The second step we are taking is to be more transparent with our finances. It’s important that our supporters know that we are being good stewards of the treasures we are entrusted with. So from now on every quarter our accounting department will send a list of all our expenses to all the board members of NGIM.

The third step is that soon we will have a place on our web-site that anyone can share a concern they have with anyone connected to NGIM. However, only those who work for NGIM will be able to see all these concerns.

The bottom line is that the Lord has laid on my heart a renewed commitment to build stronger safeguards in my own life as well the lives of those associated with NGIM to be accountable to those who support us.

That is why we at NGIM are also committed to teaching people how to practice our apologetic task (1 Pet. 3:15) in a different kind of way! It is why we at NGIM are committed to teaching discipleship principles in partnership with our apologetic and evangelistic training. Just remember, as my father said,

“If we defend the gospel with our minds, but betray the gospel with our lives, the greatest intellectual defense of the Gospel will fall to the ground.”

We must not be building followers of Christ who have the tools, yet lack the character to represent Him. Our own testimony to others may depend on it!

I trust this update and the insights that were shared will encourage you in some way. Thank you for your continued commitment in prayer and support for NGIM. You are helping us to make an eternal difference.

His Servant,

David Geisler
